The Dragland Twins: August 2012

Well, we don't have any big news to share other than the kids getting bigger and smarter. I'm probably going to jinx us by saying this, but we've been so blessed with our children. I can't remember the last time either one of them has had any issues with being sick. In fact...no...wait...I just can't remember. Johnny and Shaine have not had any colds, nor have they been sick in any way that I can remember since they were 1, and even then it's just been a cold. Wow...totally awesome!! Oh, I almost forgot. The kids had their second dental appointment last month and their teeth are great! Johnny has had his 2 year molars for a while, and Shaine does not. Heck...all her teeth just finish coming in about 5 months ago so that doesn't surprise me. Johnny is definitely an athlete and is also what some people would refer to as a "typical boy". This kid has no fear, but it sure makes me nervous. He also talks up a storm. He uses words like usually, maybe, probably, ridiculous, actually, sometimes, delicious, and the list goes on. He also talks in full sentences always using the correct tense. I hope his vocabulary continues to grow strong and both Johnny and Shaine continue to love books like they do now. As for Shaine she talks just as much, but not as clear. Her "V's" sound like "B's", and her "R's" like "W's", but she is quick as a whip. Here's one example: I was reading a story to Shaine and there was a picture of bats hanging upside down on a tree. She says,"Look mom look, they hang upside down like possums." Wow...incredible. These 2 remember everything. She is also very independent. She wants and needs to do everything on her, and boy does she get very angry when anyone tries to help. I like that she wants to do things on her own, but boy is she fiesty sometimes. I need to stop taking video's of the kids around the house and start shooting them when we're out and about. Yesterday when we were leaving Costco Johnny told the sales clerk to have a nice day. Mike and I just starting cracking up. We love these kids so much...they make us laugh every single day.

The kids were having a ball playing in Blue's travel kennel. There was a pretty bad glare from the sun that day so Johnny and Shaine look like they're scowling, but what they're doing is squinting.

Whenever Johnny eats blueberries he makes such a mess.

Shaine's hair looked so cute naturally flipped up on both sides I had to take a couple pics.

Is it me or does Johnny look like a little teenager in this picture?

I found a brand new tool belt for Johnny and he LOVES IT! "Where's my tools, I need my tools mom. DAD! I need my work boots! Where's my drill? I need to fix things." So cute.
