What the POOP do we do?

Johnny and Shaine have been potty trained for 2 months now, but they still wear  pull-ups at night when they sleep.  Shaine will nap without a pull-up on and is doing great staying dry,but now we're having some poopie issues.  Johnny has refused to poopie in the potty.  He will ask for a pull-up to poop in, and Shaine is starting to copy him.  Mike and I have tried so many different attempts to encourage them to use the potty.  Stickers, candy, reading stories, and signing songs.  Oh my goodness...I made up a song last night for Shaine called Princess Poopie.  It was about a poopie that wanted to come out and go swimming in the potty before it gets too late.  Ha ha ha, as gross as that may sound I was pretty impressed with my singing and rhyming talents about poo.  I had asked their doctor about what we can do with the poop issue.  I was given some information on Toilet Resistance training that tells us not to talk about using the potty.  Don't push the kids to use the potty and keep the pull ups off of them as much as possible.  In fact, it says not to talk about it at all and let them figure it out on their own.  Well, guess what happen?  They both held their poop for 2 days getting constipated and stomach sick.  Now what????   I don't want them to hurt or get sick and we are definitely tired of spending tons of money on pull ups which is just as expensive as diapers.  Here's the thing...they will always pee in the potty, but they just refuse to poop without a diaper or pull up.  Oh my.  If anyone has any helpful hints or suggestions please send them our way.  I so tired of poop!

Easter Sunday!!

Oh boy did we have beautiful weather this Easter weekend.  Thursday night we colored Easter eggs, and Saturday morning we went to an egg hunt at Jennings Park in Marysville.  The egg hunt was allot of fun with candy, games and even face painting.  Later that day we went to Safeco Field in Seattle to watch a high school baseball game, but the kids were so excited to be there Mike and I just chased them around the entire time.  When Easter Sunday rolled around are plans had to change because we had a very sick little boy.  We were suppose to spend the day with grandma and grandpa in Belligham, but the last thing we wanted to do is get everyone sick.  Mike, Johnny and Shaine were all fighting colds, and Johnny was stomach sick amongst other things.  He says his ear hurts so we'll find out later today if we have our first official ear infection.  Hope everyone had a beautiful holiday!

March 2013 Toddler Update

Johnny and Shaine had their 3yr. old check up 2 weeks ago and they are doing great!  Both kiddos were so well behaved and listened to everything the nurse and doctor had to say.  They also did what they were asked from stepping on the scale to sitting on the examining table.  I wish I took pictures of them getting their blood pressure and having their heartbeats checked.  Johnny and Shaine have their own little doctor kits at home and they play with them all the time so they kind of had an idea of what to expect.  They are still a little shorter than the average 3 yr. old, but they're growing at a good rate.  Johnny now weighs 32 lbs., and 3ft. tall, and Shaine is 27 lbs., and 3ft. tall.
I haven't posted many pictures because we have primarily been spending most of our time at home.  I'm enjoying my 2 weeks off of school and trying to take advantage of the dry and sunny weather with the kids whenever possible.  We also decided to give Johnny his yearly buzz cut early, but he asked for a haircut and was more than obliged to have daddy shave it off.

Johnny's Yearly Buzz Cut

They love riding the ponies outside of our local Safeway, but I would too because they move fast and  and bounce up and down like real galloping horses.

Here are the kids playing in the melting snow which fell down the day after Spring began.  Johnny insisted on having the snow shovel.

As you can see it wasn't that cold.  It took Johnny 5 minutes before his jacket was off.

Here we are the following day playing in our wonderful cul-de-sac with our friends.

This is what it looks like when we spend most of the day indoors.  Silly littel girl.
