Here comes the Heat

Well, it's hot and it couldn't have come at a better time.  Our niece Adara has met some really nice peers from one of our local church youth groups and she is having a great time.  I know a few people have made comments about having Adara watch the kids, but she's not here to be our babysitter. She's here to get away and have fun and that's exactly what she's doing.   Mike and I have been working quite a bit and unfortunately we don't really get to see one another.  As soon as he comes home from work I'm out the door to my job.  I work full time on the weekends, and if I do have a night off Mike is gone to coach his baseball team.  Our schedule hasn't allowed me to give frequent updates on the kids, but I'll try to keep you posted.

Here's Adara after working out at the gym sitting with the kids telling them a story.  It was a scary story so she had their undivided attention.

At the mall checking out the water fountain.

Horsey rides!!!

Many of you don't know the haircut story.  A few weeks ago our neighbor's 6yr.old daughter decided to give all the kids a make-over and cut everyone's hair including Johnny and Shaine.  Johnny's hair has already grown in, but poor little Shaine's hair looks terrible.  We were trying to let her bangs grow, but her new cut cannot be fixed.  Looks like we're gonna have to wait this one out.  Here she is after eating a grape popscicle.

ADARA'S HERE!!!!

A few months ago we made plans for our niece Adara to stay with us for the summer.  Now that school is out she's stuck with us for a couple months.  The kids are very excited about having her here!!  They want Adara to do everything with them!!  So glad she's here with us and we are all very anxious to have some summer fun together.  Here are some pictures of us leaving the YMCA, playing in the park, and the kiddos playing in the rain.

Here's Adara and the kids smelling the flowers outside the YMCA

This was a funny moment.  Adara was gutsy enough to jump on a tire-swing above a large puddle of water, but when she lost her grip and screamed for my help I just pulled out the camera instead.  We were laughing so hard she couldn't get off the swing, but eventually she made it to dry land.

Marysville Strawberry Festival

I've been pretty busy lately and have not had much opportunity to take pictures and videos.  Between work, school, taking care of the kids, taking care of the dogs, and keeping up with household chores all by myself it's difficult to do anything else.  We did however make it to the Marysville Strawberry Festival and Carnival Friday afternoon.  It' sad to say, but that's the first time in very long time we did anything fun together as a family.  We were suppose to go camping with the family for the weekend, but unfortunately those plans got cancelled.  Since work had already scheduled me off for the camping trip over Father's Day weekend I told Mike I would stay home with the kids so he can go to his tournament.  The kids loved the carnival rides and we made a visit to our grandpa's over Father's Day.

Here's Johnny playing a game of Yahtzee on the potty.  He's so silly.
