Morning Chatter
This morning the babes had no plans on going back to sleep. After their feeding they laid in the crib together making baby talk to one another. It was the cutest thing ever! For the first time they were actually looking at one another and smiling. Unfotunately I was too late with the camera to get those adorable smiles in on video. They must know we're going to Babies-R-Us today for more diapers, and spending time with our grandparents, auntie Jenn, and their cousins. We all can't wait for today!! We love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Licky Licker
We sometimes change the scenery for the babies moving them to different rooms and different positions. Today we spent time on the floor, but anytime one of the twins made a fuss Blue came running to the rescue. Like a good big brother he sits close by and licks the babies. He also does this if the babies fuss while we are holding them. He's a great Licky Licker!!!!

The Twins meet the Puppies
On Sunday the twins got to meet the new batch of puppies at grandma and grandpa's house. Lacey(Blue's mama) had 6 new pups whom are all adorable. Unfortuantely I couldn't download more of the photos of mama and her pups, but they are so cute and doing good. We also got to spend some time with grandma Lynda and grandpa Dick. Thank you for sharing the pups with us and for the wonderful dinner!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today was a relaxing day at home with the twins. Blue and I hung out together and took care of the babies. After feeding time we took a couple pictures together, and also a couple videos. Johnny gave us the international sign for "Feed Me", and Shaine showed us how she likes to sing in her sleep. Hope y'all enjoy it!!!!

TO ALL MOM'S WHO HAVE A SON
Yesterday our little boy Johnny had the big "C" performed on him. Most newborn boys have this procedure done in the hospital on the same day they are born. With mom still in the hospital, and medical staff available the healing process is probably quicker & easier for mom to cope. Unfortunately for our little boy he had to wait a couple weeks because of his weight. The procedure went fine and the Doc said he was a trooper, but as a mom & dad this experience is absolutely heart wrenching. We understand this is beneficial in the long-run, but to see your infant child in any kind of pain is horrible and sad. As of today Johnny is doing great and healing fast, but we definitely keep a close eye on him. For all those mommy's out there who have gone through the same experience our hearts go out to you and KUDOS for being strong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're Getting Bigger!!!!
Thank you grandma Lynda and grandpa Dick for the scale. We weighed our little one's today and they are definitely growing fast! When Johnny was born he weighed 4lbs. 15oz. Today he weighs 5lbs. 14oz. Shaine's birth weight was 5lbs. 8oz., and today she weighs 6lbs. 4oz. You can definitely tell they're growing just by picking them up, and both they're little faces are getting chubby. We're soooo happy and so in love with our twins. We thank the Good Lord everyday for these 2 wonderful blessings!!

Do You Like Math???
For those of you who have asked the question, "when is it a good time to call?" I leave you with a bunch of numbers to figure, and our schedule.---With newborn twins we feed them every 3 hours...5am, 8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm, 8pm, 11pm, 2am. 8 feedings in a 24 hour period. This equals 2 bottles a feeding which comes to 16 bottles a day. Both babies drink 3 oz. at a time and that comes to 42 oz. each day. Each time we wake the babies, or vice versa, it takes at least one hour to feed them, change their diapers, and then rock them sleep. This leaves an hour-&-a-half to 2 hours for Mike and I to sleep before the next feeding. When Mike gets up for the 5am feeding he stays up until he goes to work. We each get about 3 to 5 hours of sleep in the night. I stay with the babies throughout the day and try to catch naps when they do. ---Diapers...I did a diaper count yesterday. We went through 36 diapers yesterday. Everyday differs, but an average of 30 diapers a day. So...when is it a good time to call????...who knows. Just give us a try and if we're not available we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

THANK YOU O'BRIEN BASEBALL
Mike and I would like to thank the O'Brien baseball team for their generosity and giving us their blessing on our new family. The Babies-R-Us gift card is more than appreciated. With twins we've been going through baby products so fast. As of now we go through 16 bottles a day, and an average of 25 diapers give or take a few. We've even ran out of formula twice unaware of how fast it goes. Thanks again to all the boys and their families.

A VERY SPECIAL STORY
Before the twins arrived our dog Blue had been staying with Mike's parents. It was quite tough for Mike and I because we love this dog dearly, but he was in good hands. During our stay at the hospital we had taken a baby blanket from each baby and sent it home for Blue to get familiar with the smell of the babies. We were told that while he slept with it in his kennel he smelt it, licked it, and chewed on it. A few days after being home with the twins we decided to let Blue come home. He was so calm and curious. We let him sniff both babies and a little lick here and there. When it came time to change and feed the babes they both started fuss and cry a bit. Blue sat and watched, sniffed the crying babies, and did something so sweet and surprising...he walked over to his kennel, pulled the baby blanket out and brought it over to us. ---And some people can't understand why we care about our dog sooooo much. Today goes out to our dog BLUE....WE LOVE YOU BLUE BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1 Week & 3 Days Old
Johnny and Shaine are now 1 week and 3 days old. We had our first visit with the pediatrician and the babes are doing good. Neither baby is losing any weight and both are slowly getting back to their birth weight. Johnny weighed in at 4lbs. 11 oz., and Shaine weighed in at 5lbs. 4oz. Both 4 oz. short of their original birth weight. As for me, I'm doing much better since being home. My blood pressure is back to normal and Mike & I are starting to get a better sleep schedule down. It will be interesting to see what happens when Mike goes back to work on Monday. Taking care of the babies has been a team effort and I'm already missing my husband. I LOVE YOU MIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We Made it Home!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After being in the hospital for 2 weeks, and the babies for 4 days we were all able to go home on Sunday, March 7th!!! Johnny and Shaine passed all their vitals and their 1hr. & 45 min. car seat test. With Mike and I having very little rest, and me still recovering from surgery we couldn't be more happy to go home with our little ones. On day 3 of being home we are starting to get settled in allot better with the twins feeding schedule. Forget the nursing and the pumping. It's been too overwhelming. The babes eat great with formula and that's what's important. We need our little ones to gain weight and so far that's what their doing. Johnny is our LITTLE PEANUT, and Shaine is our LITTLE CRACKER JACK!!!!

Day 4 for our little ones and they're doing very good. We're still in the hospital located in the pediatric center just keeping an eye on the twins making sure they continue to eat and gain some weight. As of now we decided to focus on bottle feeding since they are eating well. They're still getting vitamins from the breast, and Mike and I are able to get some rest. We wanted to send out a special THANK YOU to some very important people in our lives. First, our parents. We could never do this without you and all your support. To AUNTIE JENN, and AUNTIE KRISTIE, thank you for staying with us last night and helping with feedings so we can rest. To MIKE & JODI LENTZ for visiting and helping us move rooms and the beautiful gifts!! And antoher special THANK YOU to the PERKINS FAMILY for sharing the joy of their twins and helping us out with tons of advice and how to get through rasing preemie twins. JOHNNY & SHAINE thank all of you for your love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

March 5th, 2010...2 days old
Day 2 with Johnny and Shaine and things seem to be progressing well. Being that the babies are preemies it's been allot work with feeding. The babies eat every 3 hours, and it takes a little over an hour for the feeding process. Mike and I get about 2-4 hours of sleep in a 24 hour span, but seem to be hanging in there. Although the breast milk has not come in Shaine is always ready to feed. Johnny struggles a little, but he is smaller of the two. I should be discharged from the hospital tomorrow, but the babies need to stay a bit longer. We love them sooooo much!!!! It's been tough, but absoloutly wonderful.

Our last night pregnant
Well, tonight is our last night being pregnant. Mike, grandma Mary, and myself decided to take a few more photos before the delivery tomorrow. There's nothing glamorous about being pregnant and the stretch marks are pretty prominant. Carrying twins is not an easy job, but we're anxious and ready to meet our babies.
